Legacy Trail – Sierra Bluffs to Truckee
Ride Your Bike from Truckee to Glenshire

In 1997 the Truckee Rotary Club voted to support a long-term comprehensive project that would leave a legacy for future generations of Truckee citizens. They began searching for projects that would ignite the imagination of the public, draw individuals together, and be large enough to provide involvement opportunities to everyone in the area. Since trails and bikeways along the Truckee River are a top recreational priority, the Rotary Club of Truckee selected the enhancement of and access to the Truckee River as the club’s “Legacy Project.”
The Legacy Trail is being built as a result of a strong partnership between the Rotary Club of Truckee, Truckee-Donner Parks and Recreation District, Town of Truckee, Truckee Trails Foundation and Truckee River Watershed Council.
The ultimate scope of the Legacy Trail Project will span from Glenshire all the way to Donner Lake. Along with the Legacy Trail, Sierra Bluffs is in close proximity to the renowned and amazing Tahoe Rim Trail. This 165 mile trail completely encompasses Lake Tahoe for some of the most astonishing views of the Lake imaginable. The Tahoe Rim Trail is also a great camping and backpacking destination and snowshoeing adventure in the winter.
